Rated 4.96 on Doctify and 4.6 on Google
Doctify only publishes reviews from patients who have been seen in clinic. That is why the count matters as much as the score. There are 126 Doctify reviews. The reviews below are from the Google listing.
He was kind, caring, and deeply compassionate, always taking the time to explain everything clearly and reassure us when we needed it most. Every promise he made, he kept and more than that, he exceeded every expectation we had.
When hope felt fragile, Mr Ghosh gave it back to us. His calm presence, humility, and genuine dedication to his patients are truly remarkable. He is an incredible surgeon and an even more incredible human being, and we will always be profoundly grateful for the care he gave Mum and our family.
I initially had a mastectomy, and my surgery was successful. 3 years later, and I had a delayed LD Flap reconstruction and I could not be happier with the results. Dr Ghosh is very skilled at his work this definitely shows with the final outcome.
Dr Ghosh has a caring nature is very knowledgeable, at all times professional, takes pride in his job, has high standards and it definately shows. He has cared for me and made me feel at ease. No questions went unanswered and I felt supported in my choices at all times.
I felt genuinely cared for during all my visits and procedures and could not ask for a better Surgeon. I feel really lucky to have had Dr Ghosh and I cannot thank him enough, he is an excellent Dr!
Consultant continuity
One Named Breast Surgeon, First Appointment to Theatre
One question worth asking anywhere is which consultant you will see. Here it is Mr Ghosh, at every stage. That matters most at the join between the two buildings. Your scans, your reports and your plan all travel with the same person.
Consultant continuity Who Sees You, and Who Operates
Mr Ghosh does both. He reads your scans himself rather than a summary of them. He agrees the plan with you. He is the surgeon in theatre on the day.
Appointments and referrals Private and NHS Pathways
Private patients can book direct, so no GP referral is needed. Referrals from GPs, consultants and hospital breast teams are welcome too, urgent suspected cancer referrals included. NHS patients are seen at the Royal Free Hospital Breast Unit in Hampstead.
Where you are seen
What Happens at Each Marylebone Address
Your first visit to the Marylebone breast surgeon is at the Rapid Diagnostic Centre, 146 Harley Street, W1G 7LD. The exam, the scans and a biopsy can all happen in that one visit where they are needed.
Surgery takes place at The London Clinic, 20 Devonshire Place, W1G 6BW. Both addresses sit in Marylebone. The same consultant covers both.
NHS patients are seen at the Royal Free in Hampstead. You can view the three sites where Mr Ghosh sees patients on one page.

Operations performed
Breast Cancer Operations Performed in Marylebone
Breast-conserving surgery
The cancer comes out with a margin of healthy tissue around it, and the rest of the breast stays. Radiotherapy normally follows.
Therapeutic mammoplasty
Cancer removal and breast reshaping in one operation. It suits larger breasts well, because the reshaping uses tissue that is already there.
Mastectomy
Simple, skin-sparing and nipple-sparing. The sparing techniques are what allow reconstruction at the same sitting.
What each mastectomy type involvesSentinel lymph node biopsy
Checks whether the cancer has reached the lymph nodes. OSNA testing reads the node during the operation itself. In many cases the answer is known before you wake, and a second operation is avoided.
Chest wall perforator flaps
Rebuilding shape with tissue from the chest wall itself. Mr Ghosh also works on LYMPHA, a method that aims to lower the risk of lymphoedema after node surgery.
There is no deadline on rebuilding. Some patients decide before the cancer operation. Others wait years. Both are normal.
Credentials explained
Divisional Director for Surgery at The London Clinic
Titles and letters only help if you know what they took. Here is what each of these means.
Divisional Director for Surgery is a senior role at The London Clinic. That is the private hospital where your operation would take place. Mr Ghosh holds the role now, alongside his surgical work.
FEBS stands for Fellow of the European Board of Surgery. It is awarded by exam. He holds it in breast surgery and in surgical oncology. Most surgeons hold one of the two. He also advises NICE, the body that sets clinical standards for the NHS, as an expert in breast surgery. His GMC number is 4657664, and it sits on the public register.

Second opinion
An Independent Review of Your Diagnosis and Plan
Second opinions are a routine part of cancer care, and surgeons expect them.
A second opinion here means your scans, your lab reports and the operation you have been offered are all looked at again from the start. Every case then goes to a team meeting, which radiologists, cancer doctors and pathologists all attend, before anything is advised.
Nothing you have booked needs to be cancelled. A review sits alongside your current plan. Many patients take it back to their own team and carry on as before.
Bring your scan images and lab reports to the appointment. You will leave with a clear view of the options, and of the thinking behind each one. The treatment options after diagnosis are set out in more depth on their own page.

Before you book
What Is the Difference Between Private and NHS Breast Surgery?
The operation itself is the same. What changes is how quickly you are seen and whether you choose your consultant.
How quickly can I see a breast surgeon privately?
Private appointments are often free within a few days. Urgent cases come first. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 17:00. The clinic is closed on Sundays.
Do I need a GP referral to see a private breast surgeon in Marylebone?
No. You can book direct. Referrals from GPs, consultants and hospital breast teams are welcome too, urgent suspected cancer referrals included.
Which Marylebone address do I go to first?
The Rapid Diagnostic Centre, 146 Harley Street, W1G 7LD. Surgery, where you need it, is at The London Clinic on Devonshire Place. What happens at the Harley Street clinic is set out in full on its own page.
Will I know the cost before I commit to anything?
Yes. Fees are confirmed when you book, before any appointment takes place. The clinic works with the major insurers and with patients who pay their own way.
Can I be seen on the NHS?
Yes. NHS patients are seen at the Royal Free Hospital Breast Unit in Hampstead. Mr Ghosh was Clinical Lead for Breast Services there. Being seen at the Royal Free in Hampstead is covered on the north London page.
How many breast operations does the surgeon perform?
Every private consultant in the UK has their activity data collected and published by an independent body, PHIN, the Private Healthcare Information Network. It is gathered separately from the surgeons themselves. Mr Ghosh's profile there is open to anyone.
Marylebone consultation
Book a Marylebone Consultation and Decide Afterwards
The address is only where you are seen. The consultant is who you see. A Marylebone address can sound like a big clinic with a rota of staff behind it. Here it is one person, from the first appointment through to theatre.
A first appointment settles what is going on, and what your options are. Nothing beyond that is agreed on the day.
Consultant-led. Private and NHS patients seen. No referral needed for private appointments.
Start With What You Already Have
If you have a scan, a biopsy result or a letter from your GP, bring it. If you have none of those, and simply want something looked at, that is fine too.
Appointments at 146 Harley Street usually run one to two hours. That is long enough to examine, scan and take a biopsy in the same visit where they are needed.
Private and NHS patients seen. A video call is available for a first chat.
